Itinerary:

Day 1. Almaty sightseeing tour (L/D)

Arrival in Almaty , meeting at the airport , transfer to the Hotel. Check in to Hotel. We visit the Panfilov Park that is noteworthy for its beautiful and bright cathedral. This is the Zenkov cathedral, one of the few czarists - era buildings to survive the 1911 earthquake. The cathedral is built entirely by wood and without nails!In the park we also see the War Memorial and visit the National Musical Instruments Museum. Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue sightseeing tour at Central Museum with Ethnographic and Archaeological departments and we will see the Independence Monument in Republic Square, Central mosque, National State Historical Museum. Dinner in local restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2. Almaty – Charyn canyon -Almaty  (200 km one way) (B/L/D)

A day trip to the Charyn canyon which is compared by the locals to the Grand Canyon. (The canyon extends 154 km along the Charyn River, one of the deepest rivers of the northern Tien-Shan (200 km east of Almaty).The Charyn Canyon is a long narrow gorge featuring steep sheer rocks with a rushing river flowing between them. Under the influence of wind and water the sandstone rocks have assumed fanciful shapes reminiscent of exotic figures and fairy-tale characters. That is why the canyons are also called the Valley of Castles, the Devil's Gorge and the Ghosts Gorge Lunch either as a lunch box or in a café on the way. Against 16:00 return to the town.

Day 3. Almaty – Medeo - Almaty (B/L/D)

Whole day excursion to Medeo damm to see the world famous ice skating rink, situated in the Tian Chan Mountains. Drive to Medeo world famous skating rink, situated in a mountain gorge near the city. En route information about flora and fauna of the park, Tien Shan ( Alatau) mountains, high mountain dam to protect the valley from mud slide . We may go on a hiking tour upstairs to the top of the dam to enjoy the view of northern Tien Shan Mountains and Medeo valley. Then travel to Chymbulak ski resort 2230 m above sea level to have a ride on cable car up to 3160m. In the afternoon Drive back to Almaty. We will visit Central Mosque and Green Bazaar. Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 4 Almaty  - Issyk village - Sunkar Falconry -Almaty.

In the morning  transfer to Issyk village for excursion to the small ethnographic museum where you can see a copy of the „golden man”. In the afternoon we visit Falcon Breeding Centre "Sunkar" and learn about its history and breeding/reintroduction programs. Learn about the noble ancient tradition of falconry. The Sunkar nursery, working with almost all kinds of hunting birds, operates in the Alma-Arasan gorge near Almaty. Hunting with birds and hounds has always been considered an art. Golden eagle hunting is one of the oldest methods of food hunting. Our ancestors in the Eurasian steppes mastered eagle hunting several thousand years ago, in the Andronov age. Proof of this fact comes from Bronze Age Petroglyphs. After excursion drive back to Almaty. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5. Almaty – Airport (B)

Transfer to the airport, flight home
